Accessibility Statement
This statement applies to the Atelier04 website at atelier04.vercel.app.
Last updated: 9 October 2026
Compliance Status
This website was designed to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA, as referenced by the harmonised standard EN 301 549. According to our self-assessment, these requirements are largely met; the known limitations are listed below. The requirements of the Austrian Accessibility Act (Barrierefreiheitsgesetz, BaFG), which implements Directive (EU) 2019/882, have also been taken into account.
What Has Been Implemented
- In the automated test, colour contrast is at least 4.5 to 1 for normal text and 3 to 1 for large text.
- All links and buttons can be reached with the keyboard; the focus is clearly visible. The course detail view takes the keyboard focus when it opens, keeps it until it is closed and then returns it to the course tile; the detail view and the mobile menu close with the Escape key.
- If “reduce motion” is set in your operating system, the website shows still images instead of animations and videos; all content remains available.
- The “Pause motion” button in the footer of the home page stops all animations and videos that play on their own, at any time.
- At a screen width of 320 pixels, every page can be read without horizontal scrolling.
Known Limitations
- The “In the heart of Vienna” section shows a silent video without sound or information of its own, so it has no captions or audio description. All information is given in the text.
- For text placed over videos and images (for example in the opening section), contrast cannot be measured automatically. Such text sits on darkening overlays.
Evaluation Method
This assessment is based on a self-assessment carried out on 9 October 2026: automated testing with axe-core (rules for WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2, levels A and AA) with “reduce motion” enabled, after scrolling through the whole page, at phone and desktop widths; a check of keyboard operation (every control on the home page reached with the Tab key and checked for a visible focus indicator, the course detail view and the mobile menu opened and closed with the keyboard); and a check of the layout at a width of 320 pixels.
